I've just returned from spending Xmas in Portland, and found out you are based there. After returning home to Poland (We're US Military stationed here), I did a quick search online and found out you adopted from Karaganda. We did too. :o) We were granted custody of our son Victor on Father's Day 2008.

In the photo above, his crib was the 2nd on the left. ...and if you move the piano in the main room, you'll find a few cheerios I had to hide after being admonished. I too snuck liquid vitamins to my son, as well as formula on our daily walks around the building.

While we raised a lot of money for clothes and medicine, the director wasn't interested in our buying food, fruits or veggies for the children.

I'm so very thankful for your work within Kazakhstan, and especially my dear Karaganda orphanage. Congratulations on your newest little one. We hope to go back within the next 2 years for a visit.

Best,
Laura Sims
